I am unable to change the working space profiles directly, it forces me
to use a Color Settings file in order to change the working space. The UI
seems broken in a few ways:
Setup:
1. Set Job Options to Press.
2. Go into Job Options (command-J)
3. Click the Color tab, and set the Settings file to None (the only way
I've found I can get the working space pop-ups to ungray), and color
management policy to Tag (either one).
4. Save out the new settings file - make a note of the working space
(anyone of them, let's say CMYK).
Test what I think is a bug:
1. Go back into Job Options (command-J)
2. Click on Color tab
3. Click on CMYK working space and change it to something else, anything
else.
BUG! The OK button is grayed out and you can't get out of this dialog
4. Make a change to the color management policies and then change it
back, just so you can get an ungray OK button, then click OK noting the
CMYK working space profile you just selected.
5. Go back into Job Options (command-J), click on the Color tab. Note the
CMYK working space has reverted! It's not what you selected and said OK
to!
In order to change the working space to what I want, I have to go into
Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign and make a new Settings File with the
CMYK working space I want, then load that into Distiller. I can't select
it directly and have it hold the setting. Can anyone else confirm or deny
this?
