Raymond, I remember asking a similar question a while back. Getting a new
calibration reference made quite a difference.
I've always wondered, however, what calibrating a spectrophotometer like a
DTP41 actually does. What is the "variable"? Doesn't a spectrophotometer
have a set of 20 or so filters that are meant to only let through a
particular frequency? That probably wouldn't be 100% accurate to the
frequency though. So does the calibration card tell the spectro what light
is "actually" getting each filter? Do the filters and light source
deteriorate over time? What does calibration do?
Just curious.
