Thanks for all the responses confirming what I suspected -- that those
printers could be profiled if the lab had the interest. I got the impression
that they considered it part of their marketing: "we'll correct the color
for you" and quoted who I think is a fairly popular PhotoShop/Painter
instructor as saying that the 'adjust for our sample print' is a better
chemistry print process than profiling... I wasn't there when the instructor
said that, so I have no idea what the actual words were.
