ColorSync Scanner Device Doesn't Register

In my efforts to understand the changes to ColorSync in Jaguar, I've
poked around in the ColorSync Utility.
The 'Profiles' section has all of my devices profiles listed as
installed. However, the 'Devices' section does not have one of my
connected devices as 'registered'.
My Apple Cinema Display is registered under 'Displays' and my Canon
S9000 is registered under 'Printers', but nothing is registered under
'Scanners'.
I have a Canon CanoScan LiDE 30 scanner connected to the system. I
downloaded the latest OS X driver and installed it after the CanoScan
Toolbox (as per Canon's instructions).
Has anyone encountered this problem with a connected devices profile
not being listed as "registered"?
