Same for me. Again, my focus was on ColorSync Workflows being relevant
... which you've now pointed out to me as erroneous. Thanks again.
heh heh heh...am I missing the inside joke here?
I must be, eh?
No inside joke intended ... the context was ColorSync Workflows as
specified in ColorSync System Preferences (pre-Jaguar), and how
essentially no applications ever utilized the panel settings formally
known as "Profiles for Standard Devices".
If you missed the prior bits in the thread here's a repeat ...
Gerry Percy:
I'm trying to understand the changes to ColorSync in Jaguar? The
ColorSync System Preference "Profiles" tab is gone. This was where I
had created workflows for different device combinations.
How do I now specify, or for that matter, know that these particular
device color profiles are being used when I scan, edit and print?
Chris Murphy:
How do you know that they were being used when you scan, edit, and
print prior to OS X? These settings did absolutely nothing unless an
application was specifically written to use those settings, and I think
if we all worked really hard we'd be able to count them all on one
hand. There were a few applications that would use the "Default
Profiles for Documents" pop-ups (namely Adobe applications), but I
can't think of a single one, although I'm sure a couple must exist,
that used the "Profiles for Standard Devices" pop-ups.
Anyway, I think Apple was hard pressed into seeing the value of
continuing this UI. While a good idea in theory, few people (both
consumers and vendors) used it, so it's been deprecated. You need to
set the profiles in your applications directly.
