epson profiles for colorlife paper

Has any used either the 1440 or 2880 Epson Colorlife Mac profiles for their
1280 printer? The profiles produce fiery red prints--both on preview and in
actual prints. Monitor is well-calibrated, so that is not the problem.
Generic RGB profiles work a whole lot better, which really shouldn't be the
case.
