Let me ask you.
Did you try to get a softproof using the very first profile from your
printer? eg. You build the profile for your printer and use the same profile
to use in Proof Colors option in PS?
If so, until I know, you must to create a New profile from a New alrealdy
profiled printed target, (IOW, after yout printer has profiled, you must to
print the target Again, With Calibration On, and build another profile from
this target) to correctly use the proof tool.

I think that is the correct procedure.
