If you send without embedded profiles , it shouldn't change
anything, as , you're sending CMYK that will be process as per their

your file will come out as it was intended.
Hello Neil et all
As I grow slowly wiser I am moving away from supplying RGB to supplying
CMYK as I have seen to many images go wildy astray when sending rgb to
people with quirky setups, uncalibrated screens etc.
My question is this;
Quite frequently clients are unable to give me any information about
the type of sep to supply, even to the extent of not being able to tell
me if the job will be printed web or sheet fed, let alone whether it
will be ctp or not.
Here is a typical email i received just the other day:
"anyway they said they wanted CMYK
format, and that it didn't matter
what type. They said they hadn't
been asked what type before, and it
would depend on what colours we
wanted? Hope this is enough info
for you."
Could you pre-press people please tell me what you consider the
"safest" type of CMYK file to send in this situation SWOP? custom
setup?GCR? UCR? TIL ? max black? black/white points?
I realise there are many, many variables here but in the absence of
more info from some clients what do I give them?
regards
Nick Tresidder
