Guess I'll jump into this i1 pro request for help.
Friday I took deliver of the GretagMacbeth i1 pro with i1 match. Not
much in the way of really simple graphic instructions on how to use it.
I am on Mac OS 10.2.2 and this package which was shipped directly from
GretagMacbeth did not have the OS 10.2.2 software. When I spoke with
GretabMacbeth before purchase, I was assured out of the box it would
work with 10.2.2. Wrong. In the FAQ on their website I discovered I
had to download the 10.2.2 upgrade/update.
I can read strips of the target printed on plain paper, and on
Mitsubishi Diamond Jet Artist Mirror Gloss Heavy. However, on the
Mitsubishi Diamond Jet Photograde Photomatte Heavy weight I get the
message:
"Warning: The profile check resulted in some deviations. If you
decide to continue please test the profile before you use it in
production. Continue anyway?"
I have read the strips fast, very slow, and many many times, plus I
even printed out another target on the Photomatte and repeated the
strip reading. I am sick and tired of this strip reading with no
positive reenforcement! Never, absolutely never have I gotten a
result other than with the above quote.
I have tried using the profile created, and the profile is worthless.
Please help.
Another thing: For about four plus years I have been profiling my
LaCie19Blue monitors with the Praxisoft Wyzywig Deluxe USB for Mac, and
the Chroma4 hardware device that comes with it. The two monitors
match.
The profiles for the two LaCie19Blue's created with i1 pro with i1
match are different, not the same as the Praxisoft monitor profiles.
This is also happening with my Mitzi 22 inch Diamond Pro 2060u. Why?
I was under the impression that with "device independent" color
management, monitors profiled anywhere with hardware/software, would
all give the same appearance. I use D50, gamma 1.8...the Mac defaults.
I have assumed that an image I see on my profiled monitor would look
the same on someone else' profiled monitor.
Getting back to my most burning question, why can't I get a finished
printer profile with the matte paper.
I thank you all in advance for your support and help.
Best Regards
