I was studying several profiles using the Profile Editor in
Profilemaker 4. Comparing Ektaspace, the custom profile
for my Epson 2200 on PGPP and the custom profile for my
Nikon LS4000, I made a (to me) shocking discovery.
There are a LOT of blues, greens, magentas and reds
which are INSIDE Ektaspace and the printer color space,
but OUTSIDE my scanner space.
I have always thought the main advantage to a high end
drum scan was to capture more detail for big enlargements
and to capture more shadow detail. Now I am wondering
what the "scanner color space" is like for a high end drum
scanner like the Tango. How much of Ektaspace can
the drum scanner "see" that the Nikon can't. In other words
does the Tango have a significantly larger color gamut?
Any place I could get a sample profile to compare in Profile Editor?
Thanks for any help.
