This really is a big problem, maybe THE problem in a lot of places I visit.
Do you profile/provide CMYK seps for the "masses" (SWOP TR-001 or whatever)
and provide something that NOBODY can match exactly or profile a specific
condition and then provide seps that will only "work" at one place and
nowhere else?
The only viable "solution" I see is for the ad/content provider to
separate/convert for a standards-based proof/print condition and then have
the actual printer convert to their specific print conditions. Sure, there
are ways to do this (Photoshop, Gretag iQueue) but NOBODY I talk to on the
print side wants to bear that responsibility even though it's arguably the
"correct" way to handle things. It's a workflow and liability nightmare.
