Hello again.
Is it ABSOLUTELY correct to say that the channels curves CALIBRATE the
monitor but only savvy applications use the profile?
That is, the monitor is calibrated to a standard that includes white point,
gamma, and perhaps brightness. But it would show raw RGB values unless the
app is ICC savvy. In that case the RGB values will be translated to the
color space of the monitor.
I fail to find a good metaphor for displaying the raw RGB values from a
dumb app in a calibrated monitor.
