Really? I've made several profiles recently with 10.2 and after
downloaded the latest USB daemon I haven't had any problems (OK maybe
once). That's strange, I wonder if the problem is model specific. If
anyone is having this problem, and you're a total geek, you can avoid
reinstalling the USB daemon or rebooting with a really simple command
line trick.
1. Go to the command line and type:
ps -aux | grep "aksusbd" <RETURN>
The first line returned will start with the word "root" followed by a
number. This is the PID (process ID) for the USB dongle daemon.
2. Type the following:
sudo kill PID <RETURN>
PID=the number you got from step 1. You will need to type in your
administrator password after you type inthe above command. This will
kill the offending aksusbd daemon.
3. Type the following:
sudo /usr/libexec/aksusbd
You will not need to retype your admin password; this will relaunch a
new instance of the USB daemon and you should be able to relaunch any
of the ProfileMaker components immediately.
