How about this. You can smooth and even out a table top all you want, and the
results are improvements, just as fairing the channel curves and adjusting
the front panel controls on a monitor are. But until you adjust the length of
each table leg, the results won't offer a truly level surface, just a
smoother, flatter unlevel surface. This is what those values in the profile
are used for in savvy applications.
