Well, all I can tell you is that I've done several sites with the Rampage
RPD/ICC software (I used to train Rampage) and the results compared
favorably to my experience with Best ColorProof. The "pre-profiling" steps
are a bit different but you get a lot of the same control such as
calibration/linearization and setting per-channel ink limits.

Not sure what you mean by a "press output device". A DI type of press?
At the moment, Rampage does NOT support ICC profiles with any final output
device such as a filmsetter or platesetter. That may include what you mean
by "press output device". We could argue the reasons for this but personally
I think it makes sense; the plate/filmsetter gives you precisely the values
you asked for in the original document and PROOFING devices allow you to
simulate, via ICC profiles, these values for a particular press.
