Hello,
I hope this is not OT, but it seems me this list could be the right
place to ask for advices. I'm an Epson 7000 owner who had a little
printing laboratory for photographers, archives and galleries: actually
I use a coated cotton paper I found here from an italian paper mill and
I've been experimenting also with Hahnemuhle and Somerset. Inksets put
me in little trouble, since with my old Canon bjc-8500 I've tried
dye-base (quite good gamut but not for archival use) and only Generation
enhanced as pigmented inks: now, for both Canon and maybe Epson I would
like to definitively switch to pigmented, but I'd like to experiment
different ink brands. I know that pigmented have smaller gamut: but when
profiling papers and Generations with my GretagMacbeth Eye-One and
softproofing, printing images, results are quite flat -- and for that
reason I would like to try different inks, looking for the best pairs
with my papers.
Any advice, link to resource, would be very appreciated. Regards,
Davide Barranca
