Hi --

On the OSX Colorsync Utility, have you tried running the Profile First Aid,
first button on upper left? That just might correct those anomalies without
having to know what messages mean.

Give it a shot, see what happens.

Sol

Heh heh heh...Thanks but these errors are from profile first aid.

And since this is a Colorsync thing I'll carry on and see who chimes in since: anomalies are usually something that cannot be fully explained or predicted; someone wrote code defining statements resulting from the error(s), therefore; it's not so much an anomaly as it is the lack of an error guide.

I duped the profiles I had errors on before running the utility (CU) overtop them all.

That the CU reports and cannot 'repair' errors from 'secret sauce' tags is no surprise.

That the 'white point is not D50' error can be 'fixed' by the CU is an interesting surprise. I checked every tag and every header in old and 'repaired' profiles. There was and is no alteration, no modification and no 'repair to any profile but the files modification dates were changed. So what was 'fixed' - the profile or the OS?

Inspection shows that "Header Creator is not correct" is actually the CU balking at any unexpected character in the "desc" internal description tag.

"Header padding is not null" is, for now, just pillowtalk.

So please pardon my inquiry, etc.,...I'm just trying to come up with an answer for the first client who runs the CU and sees these 'errors' resulting from profiles we provide. 'i dunno' and 'just push the button' is too much like ICM 1.0 for me to just accept as is...;0)
