Hi Jim,
Here are some things I've found to help in get the Splash RIP to behave
properly:
1.) Calibrate the scanner and the paper stock twice a day
2.) Make sure the rendering intent is set properly: For Relative
Colorimetric use these settings in the PPD: Rendering Style: Photographic,
Composite Spot Color CX:OFF
3.) Make custom copier profiles: For Contone Mode (don't use Screen Mode)
the copier profile is a file named "DC12 (Splash)". I've had great success
profiling the copier with the following settings: 280 TAC, MaxK:100, GCR:
MaxK.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Subject: Xerox Docucolor12 & Splash
Dear List,
I have a client who is having success with profiles overall and they now
have a new toy, a Xerox Docucolor12 with a Splash. They are having a
problem with integrating profiles with the Splash controller to get them
to
work correctly. I am told by the client that this process worked quite
well in the demo, so they are pretty sure it will work. But as we all
know... now that they own one, the installer (who I am told is not so savvy
about color) can't get profiles to work to produce a reasonable print. The
client also tells me they a have exhausted their support options with Xerox
at this point.
Before I visit the client I was looking for information from: a location on
the web, a vendor who knows about this process or comments from this list
about integrating profiles into this product. I have been to the EFI site
and Xerox with no luck.
Any information about the Splash would be great on or off list.
Thanks
Jim Rich
