Thankyou! At last an answer that makes sense. Sounds like I need to
bug Apple about this as it's their stock card that's driving this
thing. This has never been an issue on my old beige desktop system.

Betas are often for people looking for problems <g>.
The boxed cursor is actually a video card driver problem that was cured for
most Nvidia cards and possibly ATI as well. It seems that it's present after
a G2.2 will crate a problem over the operating system 1.8 standard that
Apple wants to stick to.
