I hope this is news, not advertising. (I don't want the Gnaegster to boot me
off the list!)
Occasionally the question comes up on this list asking how to obtain density
or other colorimetric information from spectral data. I have created a free
spreadsheet that computes all sorts of useful things from your spectral
sample, including all possible combinations of
*Standard Observers: [2-degree and 10-degree]
*Reference Illuminants: [A, B, C, D (any temp), E, Blackbody (any temp),
user-defined]
*Colorimetry: [XYZ, xyY, Lab, LCH(ab), Luv, LCH(uv)]
*Densitometry: [Status A, E, M, T, Visual, Type 1 and Type 2]
*RGB: [16 different working spaces, spectrally calculated (i.e. without
adaptation)]
There are actually three different spreadsheets, for different sampling
intervals (5 nm, 10 nm or 20 nm), so you should choose the one corresponding
to your spectrophotometer's capabilities. The spreadsheets cover the range
of 340 to 830 nm.
