Well I knew that but I didn't think it had to be colorsync aware to
use ColorSync?
Color management is supposed to be an added feature to gimp-print in
the future.
In the mean time you could linearize the printer, print and measure the
color swatches to get your RGB printer Profile.
On the Xanti ColourLaser I set the printer built in rip to Direct
(Printer CMM Off). Then use the system ColorSync.
Is that any good or am I not really using ColorSync at all?
InDesign 2.0.2 seems to work fine using ColorSync and composite
Composite RGB.

Hi,
I think if you are printing from Classic with a Classic Application
you use the chooser to set up printing like you would if you were
booted into OS 9. To get at the chooser your Classic Application has
to be in the foreground so that you can access the colored Apple >> menu.
If you are printing from an OSX Application then you would print
through the PrintCenter.
To print in OS X to an Epson 3000 I have installed GIMP Print and
GhostScript EPS. GIMP Print supports the Epson 3000. I have an
ethernet connection and connect using the printers IP address.
It makes good prints especially on plain paper although of-cause
Glossy Photo is much better.
I do use ColorSync in OSX using Canvas 8 ColorSync Workflow settings
under the Edit menu/ Calibration/ Color settings, and set it to
"ColorSync Workflow"
I then set the System Preferences ColorSync Panel to the profile, and
print using RGB in Canvas 8.
Canvas 8 has a Show Page Breaks setting that shows the printers
printable area on the screen so you can see if your Page Setup has
the right settings to get it right the first time.
Hope this helps __Jeremy
