Talk about red herrings... In exclusion perhaps, but if someone were to
say, press CONVERT as some often do, the color and the numbers will clearly
be affected. If they leaned more toward what the viewer considered accurate
then they must be doing some Corrections. Are you saying this is not what
happens?
In an ideal ICC scenario, pressing convert will affect the numbers
but not the color. If you're saying that you have a profile that
consistently improves the colors on conversion, I'll listen, but
that's not color management, it's automated image processing. I'd be
leery of any conversion that changed the colors except for
reconciling gamut differences, and even then, I've yet to see a
one-size-fits-all method of doing even that that does equal justice
to all images.
