There are now, it seems, a large number of LCD monitors on the market from
different manufacturers (and even more brands). Does anyone have a feel for
which makers' monitors are most suitable to color management? By that I mean
LCD monitors that can produce good linearity and useful gamut (we know they
are plenty bright).
I can't say I'm impressed with the Apple displays - they are certainly big but
exhibit noticeable color shift even 20-30 degrees off-axis.
There is a big difference between the Apple Cinema Monitor and their
other models. It has MUCH less shift. It might be worth looking at.
As far as I've seen, it is currently the top rated LCD screen in all
the reviews. In general I have been very sceptical about all
flat-screen monitors for color critical work, but I have seriously
considered getting one of these.
I am curious if anyone has used one of these for color-critical work?
