We've had quite good luck with the 8000, serving commercial photographers.
Enlarge 2 1/4 to 30 x 40 all day. Faster and friendlier than our Linocolor
in Heidelberg. Dept of field is a considerable problem....when roll film
has been rolled up for a while, the curl makes it almost impossible. Take that
back, change to impossible. Our guys tried the glass holder, but it
introduced too much diffusion. Would probably be ok for portrait work. We have
not tried the modified carrier solution previously posted here.
Yes, you can tell the difference between this and a good drum scan, if
compared side by side, especially in the dMax. You had better look hard, though.
