Well, that's the next step in my investigation. I suspect there is not
exactly 12V coming out of the electronic transformer feeding power to the
solux bulbs in my lighting fixture. I just got a RadioShack voltmeter to
check on that. I'll let you know what I find out. My guess, then, is that
the voltage supply in the Solux desktop lamp must be dead on 12V otherwise
Solux could not make claims that the CCT is 4700K.
Actually, I once measured the 4700K lamp at a trade show where Solux had a
booth and the CCT read by a brand spankink new Minolta Cl-200 Chroma meter
was only 4586K. Not bad but still not the rated 4700K -- just 114K shy of
4700K.

I'll be looking at that chart. Thank's.

Care to tell me more about that 'DC adjustable amd regulated supply'? And
what CCT you're getting off the lamp? I've been looking for a way to nail
down the exact conditions under which that lamp will actually operate at
4700K to advise my graphic design students in search for an affordable color
viewing environment.

As you mention, the big advantage with the Solux lamps is that there is a
