I have an odd problem with a relatively new Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070sb,
and the Mitsubishi support tech I spoke to claims to have never heard of it.
Images begin to stretch horizontally as they are moved toward the left side
of the screen, and it's progressive, starting about mid screen. I'd guess
the degree of lateral geometric distortion all the way to the left to be
about 25%. I didn't notice it until working on portraits, where the effect
is subtle fun house mirror.
Other factors that may be influential: Windows XP, ATI Fire ATL G1 dual
head card, a powered down Nikon 8000 scanner a foot to the left, a secondary
19" CRT a foot to the right (but it does this with it powered down and the
video card set for single monitor), and the "correct" Mitsubishi driver. I
have another box on my network coming into the secondary input of the 2070,
no improvement, and I've carefully adjusted every geometric adjustment
available. The one thing I haven't done yet is to physically move the
monitor to another location as it's a heavy beastie. Has anyone run into
this sort of problem before? Is it time to throw this boat anchor into the
Hudson and get an LCD?
TIA,
Dave King
