I think that to have both a CRT and an LCD 'visually' match each other, they
have to match in absolute Luminance (cd/m2) first. If this is the case then
one needs a way to bring down the LCD's Luminance to the level of a CRT
which is typically much lower. The latest version of FujiColourKit (v4) does
allow the user to match the Luminance in a monitor profile. I think
ProfileMakerPro v4 also allows that but I don't remember how.

In GM ProfileMaker Pro 4, you can manually enter a cd/m2 luminance value
when setting the colour of the monitor using ProfileMaker module. Works
really well.
