Heidelberg or anyone else that works in OSX?
As Andrew said Newcolor 2.5.6 build 5600 7000 is the latest Mac Os X soft to
run the more recent HDM scanners (no Umax hardware support). Heidelberg did
state in a press release that they would continue support for their prepress
clients for at least five years. There are still people that work on the
color prepress apps in Kiel. They even got out the much needed patch this
summer that squashed the remaining problems of screen display etc.
You'll find the software under prepress apps at Heidelberg, and the updates
are a little hidden but there too.
If you have a high end scanning station NC 7000 is the top. That said until
now it was stable on PC not so on Mac. Hope to hear feedback to confirm this
after the update.
