iQueue bug?

  • Subject: iQueue bug?

Just installed my first iQueue at a customer... And will install the second
one next week.
Chose iQueue 120 because there was already a print server (the excellent
PrintDesk) that can spool to folders and print from folders.

And of course I didn't realize (never gave a thought to it) that it only
processes one file at a time, so it's become a bottleneck because it drives
two Phaser printers in a high-volume environment and files are 30Mb in
average. Is that one-interpreter limitation also true in the 140 version?

The bug: I am converting everything to CMYK and all files are postscript
from Quark; if I use "preserve black channel", in its default settings
(vector only, 100% treshold) the resulting files do not print; they generate
postscript errors. I tried both in Phaser 7700 and Phaser 2135, even
switching PPDs between them. If I use RGB instead or disconnect the
"preserve black channel" option, no problem.
