I am looking to buy a color management software and equipment
and I don't no which one I should buy, there is so many different product on
the market. It is to profiled a Iris and a EPSON 9000 plus all different
sceens and a EVERSMART scanner.
It depends on how much you want to spend and how accurate you want your
profiles to be. If you want really precise color from scanner, display
to proofer you will want Monaco, GretagMacbeth or the new Fuji
professional profiling systems. Expect to pay at least $4000.00. The
more expensive automated spectrophotometers can set you back another
$2,000.00 to $6,000.00. The equipment is only half of the puzzle.
You will want to pay for some training if you do not have any experience
building profiles or using them in a workflow, . Either on site or go
to some workshops. Knowing how to implement a workflow using ICC
profiles and trouble shooting potential problems is well worth the
expense. Color Management consultants can help you with implementing
some industry standard procedures and techniques that will save you time
and aggravation. Bottom line they can save you money in the long term.
Where are you located?
