Thanks for that insight. My graphics card - a Matrox P750 - does have an
option for what it calls 'Gigacolor' (10bit). Up till now, I have not used
this, as I thought it would just slow things down and why did I need 10
billion colors anyway. Now I can see the reason for it, so I'll check the
box and see if it is any better.
