Why use ColorSync at all when you can completely color manage the printer

The way I understand it, when using "ColorSync" with an Epson printer, the
color is created by a combination of the Epson driver and the Epson canned
ICC profiles. Although I personally have not had much success following this
receipe, it's entirely possible for colors to come out in a 'pleasing' way.
And that's how I understood the original poster described her experience. If
that's the case, and she's feeling she's getting 'good' colors for her needs
then why not continue that way? Otherwise, yes, she's going to have to get
into custom ICC profile her 2200 in order to be able to use Photoshop's
color conversion commands with the results we all know.
