Proof setup does many things, some of which needs BPC.
Suppose you want to see what happens when you convert to CMYK using RelCol
with BPC and save this a proof setup (My CMYK). Then you want to use this
proof setup as a simulation source when printing (proofing) your RGB. You
couldn't do that without BPC for the RGB > CMYK conversion.
