BPC is really a hack to get around the poor to nonexistent gamut mapping
in the "expected" ICC workflow (poor in the case of Lut based profiles that
support 3 intents, and the gamut mapping is performed without the knowledge
of the source gamut, nonexistent in the case of most display profiles).
A real gamut mapping process will map the luminance range (including
white and black) appropriately for the chosen intent.
