Profiling non-linear printer

  • Subject: Profiling non-linear printer

Dear fellows,

I've been playing around with ProfileMaker 4.1.5 Pro and made few profiles
for color copiers and these work fine. But now I have inkjet printer that is
_very_ difficult to get linearized. Typically grey balance is more or less
greenish, bluish and brownish accross the grey balance test chart (equal CMY
values).

When this "red-blue-brown rainbow" is the best you can get from this printer
and RIR, I'd done ICC profile using "ECI2002" test chart(s) that was
recommended by Gretag for non-linear printers. I've tested several
combinations for separation setup, but still I miss neutral grey. It is
quite close, but too far away still. What would be recommended (and easy
way) to get grey balance work right?

Regards,

Jouni
