As I recall, OS 9 does not use your actual monitor profile, it makes a copy
of it, and runs with that by way of an alias... Confusing enough? So simply
removing your old profile isn't enough, you need to then change to a new
monitor profile, so the old copy and alias are overwritten, then you will be
rid of all elements of it.
