So if it is not uniform in the blue region does that invalidate its use in
all the other region by virtue of that fact?

Do you have another 'more uniform' color space to propose than CIE Lab? Is
it known that Munsell Renotations don't plot on constant hue lines in CIE
Lab? There are lots of papers that have been published on that subject
around 1976 in Color Research and Applications. You're saying that Lab is
wrong for color management and that xyY is better suited? So all vendors
should go back to the drawing board and come up with solutions that are
XYZ-based?
