Profiling a CRT with a Minolta CA-100 any good?

  • Subject: Profiling a CRT with a Minolta CA-100 any good?

I couldn't help notice that OptiCal 3.7 and ProveIt! still support taking
measurements of the display using a tabletop instrument called a Minolta
CA-100. It is not exactly a "portable" instrument but I wonder whether
anyone ever made any profiles using one of those? Since they are supported.

I know there is this ongoing controversy on the List about the relative
merits of spectro vs broadband colorimeters to measure monitors, but I was
curious whether anyone ever tried one of those Minolta's and have anything
good to say about them, in the context of making monitor profiles.
