To me it's always the reverse, I tend to be eager to believe in new
technologies beforehand. And the same was with the Foveon sensor, until I
read a rather devastating review of the Sigma SD-9 made by Phil Askey in
dpreview.com; while the review acknowledged the added detail of a
non-interpolating sensor, it found terrible flaws in highlights abruptly
losing color, a large amount of noise in the reds and also unnatural sky
colors. The latter I guess could a software thing, but the other two are
more likely to be related to the sensor itself. I'll wait for the next
version.
