This may sound crazy, and I don't know if I've mentioned this before on
the lists (it's been a crazy few weeks), but check out Gimp-Print under
OS X. It's an opensource print driver that supports almost any Epson
printer under the sun. The lead developer is now actively adding color
controls (curves for each channel) to the driver to should be able
handle the ink limiting functions and grey balance issues that crop up
here often. Look for that in the latest development builds. It uses ESP
Ghostscript for its postscript interpreter, which I believe is what
Best uses and extends to handle different file formats.
I used it with an older Epson I used to get access to custom paper
sizes in OS X and was happy with the results, but I did no critical
color evaluations.

I am in search of an inkjet printer for proofing my work that will run
natively under OSX. Obviously, PostScript and good color management
are requirements and at least 13x19 sizes is also needed. Since I am a
small design firm I need to stay below $3000. Does anyone have advice
for me on this subject?
Thanks
