I just was introduced to the Canon line of printers and saw a W2200, (I
think that is the correct product ID). This is a A3+ sheet printer that was
producing pre-press quality proofs.
So far I have only found it on a Japanese website.
Does anyone know where it can be found here in the states and what rips
drive it?
Thanks
Jim Rich

Jim, As others have mentioned, The approved RIP's for the W2200 are: The
Scanvec Amiable PhotoPRINT3 SE, Global Graphics' Global Color Solution,
O.R.I.S. Color Tuner,ONYX Graphics Onyx proof, and The Grandaddy of all, the
BEST Colorproof. The printer has print heads over 1" tall and the machine
just plain hauls butt!. It has 6-130ml ink tanks, C,Y,M,K,lightC,LightM.
This is the machine that I have converted my studio as well as a Canon W7200
36" printer. Canon built image Rendezvous into the new Image PROGRAF W2200,
W7200, and W7250 color graphic and large-format enabled print products so
they will automatically configure within office networks. Here is the link
for more information on the Canon printers. You will not be disappointed
with these machines.

1021 If this link gets truncated, go to www.usa.canon.com and click on
"Office" (about the middle of the page) then scroll down to "printers", and
then select "large format printers". The four new printers will be displayed
for you. here's a link to an overview of the printers :
