The Epson 2450 is an excellent scanner and coupled with Silverfast software
it is a Hard to beat combo.
The Creo scanner is a tremendous scanner... Fast, great resolution, and
excellent software. They start at about USD $11,000-12,000. I have sold a
few and have had no major complaints. Though from what you are describing it
might be overkill for your needs.
If you need larger format than letter size, look at the Epson 1640XL Graphic
Arts edition with TX adapter. That scanner has good resolution, is coupled
with SilverFast software, and with the TX adapter is around $4000.
