I can't remember shovelling as much dust off a skintone series as for a
Kodak DCS publishing project some years ago. The filter was not bonded
to the CCD and could be removed, but in principle only by a service
technician. That was in the days of LinoColor DCam 5.1 and 6.0 beta
when it was hot news how to set up the lamps for the ColorChecker shot.
Nice software, but I didn't bond well with that camera -:).
