Technically no. RGB is a device dependant colorspace. But there is no real
device that produces Adobe RGB. It's a "synthetic" colorspace built by
numbers only. So in that regard, it's been called a Quasi Device Independent
colorspace because it's not based on any single or real device. I like to
think of these kinds of RGB Working Spaces as device independent although
someone could argue that RGB can't really be such.
I see others have addressed the other questions.
