MeasureTool and OSX

I've been trying to get MeasureTool to read a testchart (RGB 2.88) all day
under OS X and when I hit "Start" all I get is the spinning beachball of
death. The SpectroScan is connected to a G4 Cube (via a Griffin gPort)
running OS X.2.3 and ProfileMaker 4.1.1 (in demo mode anyway). Everything
else works fine (it calibrates itself on the tile, etc) up until the point
where you define the chart on the table...then the app just hoses itself.

Anybody run into this?
