<Not really. SWOP are looking for an end to end solution, and
you can achieve this if your profiling package works (ie.
SWOP will be looking at the result after the CMYK input
is transformed by your input and output profile, so
peculiarities of the spectrometer and profiling
package have the opportunity of cancelling out.)>
Of course - I was being facetious. The problem is that there is always a
"but". The fact that there is a never-ending comparison of profiling
packages with competition creating newer and better pofiles, means that in
the near future anyway, you will get different results. In this case it is
not a matter of whether the package works - Printopen works, Profile Maker
works, Monaco works - but the results are not identical. Going back to how
this thread started, it was about a remote proofing system which eliminates
the need for a hardcopy proof. As I understand ita contract proof, this
softproof needs to be IDENTICAL at both sides on order to be a contract
proof. I see too many variables, however for this to be the case at
present.
