I think this is the most salient point. The X-Rite / Monaco combinations have been available for a while now and the new pairing may bring about some more favorable pricing but...
I think X-Rite needs to "rev" their hardware to bring it more in line with what their main competitor is offering the market. They may have some challenges with the patents existing that limit sale of an emissive/reflective instrument.
Monaco makes great software, X-Rite makes great hardware that needs an update... then it might get interesting. Otherwise it seems like business as usual for the short term.
