Hi there.
I need to show a perfect running color managed workflow to a client. If you
know of a site and are willing to help, please read on.
Oh, and please reply off-list to this one, it's probably a bit off topic:
I have a client in Denmark who are interested in converting their workflow
to complete digital, and color managed.
The client is in the business or art reproduction (Paintings, sculpture
etc.) and need to get offset print and intermediate proofs on an in-house
printer which accurately looks like the original art.
The art will be shot digitally, immediately color corrected on a calibrated
monitor and output on a proof.
The proof will then be compared to the original art side by side, accepted
(or rejected and re-shot/corrected until it is accepted), after which the
Art will be unavailable. This proof will then be the contract proof which
the printer will have to match (dE94 <2 from Proof). These guys mean
business!
This of course will require an offset printer with a working knowledge of
color management and a high level of process control.
My client would like to visit a site that has taken the leap and has a
similar workflow from Digital Capture > Proof > Offset, and preferably one
company doing it all in house, possibly except offset!
And to complicate matters the client would prefer it to be someone doing art
reproductions too.
My problem is that Denmark is simply too small... To the best of my
knowledge no such reference sites (running a similar workflow to similar
tolerances) exist over here.
And so I was hoping that someone on this list could point me in the right
direction, no matter where in the world they may be.
If anyone knows of a company/institution that does art reproduction and does
so properly color managed from capture to print I'd really appreciate a
lead...
Alternatively if anyone knows of a high quality offset printer (in Europe)
that currently is working successfully with color management, contact
information for these would be greatly appreciated as well. I might be able
to find a suitable company through the printer (or even a printer for my
client).
Thanks in advance
Best Regards
