I was emailed off list and received clarification. Gretag Macbeth has a rather unique license that allows their software (and subsequent profiles inclusive) to be used on any machine involved in your production workflow. That would include customers, freelancers, or even vendors.

So the profiles are licensed, but it's a permissive license.
