Hello,
I'm testing currently the Eye One Display from Gretag for profiling
my monitor.
As I think that you can produce a bad monitor profile when you use a
not suited surface for calibrating the Eye One, which "surface" will
be best suited for calibrating it? Gretag is only suggesting
something dark black and matte. So I wonder if it will be possible
to use a sheet of matte fine art paper printed with black ink on it?
Best regards

All that matters for the dark calibration is that you exclude any
ambient light. The EyeOne Display doesn't have a light source, so as
long as no light enters from outside, the color of the surface is
irrelevant. I actually get good results holding the device against my
thigh-the color of the pants doesn't seem to have any detectable
effect.
